MFW – Missoni A/W 2013 collection
As the lights went up on the Missoni show, we were impressed by the mood-lighted panels and the overall atmosphere, and we were anxious to see what creations we were going to see.
A strong, simple but classic look is what is in store for autumn/winter 2013 with Missoni – an easy elegance if you will.
With swept-back hair, the models took an almost androgynous look and relied on the garments to do all the talking. The traditional zigzag Missoni print we all know and love ran throughout the collection, in some pieces more than others.
We saw plenty of shift dresses in alternating textures, although knitwear made a big impact. Gorgeous muted tones were a staple throughout the show and we saw a lot of ombre knitwear and suits – who doesn’t love a dip dye?
With the feminine and chic lines on each outfit, some of the looks were given a slight edge by adding a belt to break up the outfit, or a pair of knee-high boots for a bit of glamour. We certainly loved the elegant midi dresses, combined with gorgeous prints and fabrics to lust over.
There was also a lot of flesh on show for a collection set for A/W 2013, but it was done in the most sophisticated way that only Missoni knew how.
This collection was definitely a lot of shape and texture combined with luxe comfort knits and beautiful prints, but then what else would you expect from such a well-loved brand?
