PRISM will make you wish you needed glasses

PRISM will make you wish you needed glasses

Once tarnished with being geeky, glasses have finally been given a new image. The fashion world has recognised specs as not only a necessity for some, but also as an accessory, giving just as much scope for style and design as, say, a necklace. PRISM1

PRISM is a brand specialising in eyewear and giving its own unique take on glasses. The frames are carved out of blocks of acetate and finished by hand in northern Italy, where glass-making originated. Each style is produced in a very limited number, giving each owner of a pair of PRISM frames the pleasure of never bumping into someone wearing their glasses.PRISM2

The gorgeous shape unisex frames come in a variety of chic tones including cream tortoise shell, rose gold and zebra horn, and are also available as sunglasses (yay!). The four main collections: Artisan, Matte Acetate, Matte Metal and Classic, are made up of various shaped frames named after the place which inspired their creation – from London to Buenos Aires. Berlin is a sharp cat-like half frame that accentuates the brow, whilst the Copenhagen style is a round shape with a mod feel.PRISM3

Creative director Anna Laub founded PRISM to turn glasses into an accessory, and not just a functional object. As a glasses wearer herself, Laub felt eyewear was an accessory that is as important as any other, and in fact more immediately visible.
