PFW – Chloé A/W 2013 collection
With lights up in the Tuileries, the Chloé show was about to start. With a sneak peek at the show notes, we knew we were in for a collection that was inspired by night buses, bare legs, bike sheds, flirting and tough girls.
As the models took to the runway, the notes became clear and a definite schoolgirl-in-the-70s vibe was imminent. The overall look was very youthful in nature, with plenty of pinafore dresses and contrasting bib tops balanced with over-sized cuffs.
The collection had a beautiful yet simple palette of blacks, whites and plenty of dusty blues. Think smart chic, this collection had it all. With plenty of statement coats that were completely covetable, we particularly had our eye on this beautiful sleek blue number.
Colour blocking also made its appearance, along with plenty of contrasting fabrics with elegant lines throughout. The collection screamed strength, power and masculinity but with beautiful feminine touches. Accessories were kept to a minimum; all eyes were definitely kept on the outfits and the looks themselves.
Claire Wright Keller absolutely had this collection on point and all the looks flowed into one another, providing a fantastic 70s school uniform vibe – only in the best possible way.
If you need something to sum up the show, the words that come to mind are definitely simple lines, masculine chic and layering – Chloé does it so well.
