Cinderella shall go to the ball thanks to Sister by Sibling
To mark the extended celebrations of Disneyland Paris resort’s 20th anniversary, the park will host a fashion show with specially designed pieces from a collection of Europe’s top fashion designers.
Nine designers will each create outfits inspired by the resort’s Disney Dreams! Shows include Philip Treacy for Ireland, Olcay Gulsen for Supertrash for The Netherlands, and France’s Alber Elbaz for Lanvin. The UK’s contribution will be from the fabulous Sister by Sibling who specialise in couture knitwear.
The design trio will weave their magic for Disneyland Paris with an outfit inspired by the Disney classic Cinderella. Sibling hasn’t gone for the obvious character choice, but gives a unique twist on the fairytale by presenting an outfit inspired by mice. Cinderella’s three mice friends; Jack, Gus and Mary represent the three designers Sid Bryan, Joe Bates and Cozette McCreery.
“Revisiting Disney’s Cinderella as an adult has been an amazing experience and to be asked to design for Disneyland Paris from this starting point was a joy. Sister by Sibling immediately felt an affinity with the three mice within the story: friendly, helpful with an inner strength and a familiar easy-going humour.”
The design will feature the brand’s luxurious knits in an extended mini with hand embroidery by Laura Lees and styled with Katie Grand Loves Hogan high tops and plenty of sparkle. Along with the other European designers, the dress will be presented on a catwalk on 23rd March in the Designers of Dreams fashion show.
Other outfits include a bespoke dress designed for Minnie Mouse by Lanvin. Alber Elbaz for Lanvin explains: “When I showed Minnie two dresses, she knew exactly which one she wanted. She likes to show her heels, and loves earrings, jewellery, colours and everything that sparkles!”
“And so,” Sibling says, “with the help of Jack (Sid) and Gus (Joe), Mary (Cozette) will go to the ball and this ball will be ROCKIN’!”
