Expecting great things from Inside Design’s latest exhibition
Following the success of Inside Design’s first instalment, we have decided to let our readers know about the next instalment of this fantastic exhibition.
Inside Design is an innovative set of exhibitions that look into the behind-the-scenes process of design. This exhibition has been created by Orsola De Castro who has designed for world-renowned brands such as Speedo, Topshop and Jigsaw. As well as having famously designed for Colin Firth’s wife for the Oscars and the Unity dress for the 2012 Olympics, she is also the co-curator of the contemporary brand Estethica, which features at London Fashion Week each year. She is inspired by hippies and punks, and this breath-taking exhibition explores all aspects of the design process, including the issue of pre-consumer waste and reproducibility in recycling. It also celebrates her forward-thinking ethical approach to fashion design.
If Orsola’s previous work does not give enough of an insight into how outstanding the exhibition is expected to be, the images here will. They show some of the design features in the exhibition, which is set up as a “show and tell” at the Great Western Studios.
This exhibitions also celebrates the launch of the new From Somewhere website. From Somewhere was first established in 1997, it has continued to explore ways of making design more environmentally friendly, so it links greatly with the Inside Design exhibition.
This fantastic exhibition will take place between the 10th and 20th of June, from Monday to Friday, from 9am to 6pm.
