MAC: Baking Beauties for summer 2013
The one beauty brand you can always rely on to bring you a pretty perfect collection is MAC. They must have one of the best creative teams in the world of make-up, as they are always coming up with interesting and innovative ideas. Having created collections inspired by Barbie, Wonder Woman and Hello Kitty they are always on top of that which is cool and fun. They also seem to offer a unique summer set which, in the past, has included the Semi-Precious Collection, a stunning array of semi-precious gem-inspired colours; Surf Baby Collection, summery colours with bright shades and bronzers; and now we have the Baking Beauties Collection.
Over the past year or so, everybody has become steadily obsessed with cupcakes, macaroons and everything sugary, warm and scrumptious – we blame the Great British Bake Off – and now MAC have jumped on the baking band wagon.
With a make-up assortment so sweet it makes your mouth water, the new MAC line includes lipsticks, lip balms, paint pots, glitter, mascara, face powder, nail lacquers, lustre drops and brushes.
As you’d expect from a beauty collection inspired by sweet treats, the colours are delightfully appealing with candy hued nail polishes and pretty pastel paint pots.
As with every great make-up line, the names of the products are all part of the appeal, from Lavender Whip lipstick to Fancy Frosting paint pot and Pink Buttercream face powder, MAC have used all their resources to make this summer-ready set as appealing as possible.
When it comes to MAC you can be assured that whether you are buying a Sweet Tooth lip balm or Blue Velvet nail varnish, it will be of the highest quality. Costs have not yet been released but the MAC prices tend to range from £10 to £30 and considering the excellent pieces you will own, this is quite a steal.
Over in the US they will be able to start their summer make-up collection in April, but us UK residents will most likely have to wait a month or two for the Baking Beauties to hit our shelves – but it should definitely be worth the wait.
