Bitching and Junkfood: The place to find your S/S’13 wardrobe
The contemporary clothing label Bitching and Junkfood was launched three years ago by London-based duo Marion Bergin and Kathryn Blunden. The label has grown from the pair’s initial salvaged denim project to a fully manufactured label comprising denim, digital print lycra, jersey, leather and fake fur outerwear.
The label takes its main inspiration from contemporary pop culture and the eclecticism of the digital world. Their cut-and-paste aesthetic has become one of the defining attributes of the brand. With their unique take on designing and creating products, Bitching and Junkfood has become a favourite with celebrity clients, including Rita Ora, Kelis, Drew Barrymore, Iggy Azalea and Ellie Goulding – just to name a few. The duo’s work has also featured on the cover of Elle UK, Company and in the pages of Vogue UK, American Elle and many more. Not bad for a pair of girls running their business from a small studio in East London.
Sticking to the more upbeat trends of S/S’13, Bitching and Junkfood tend to have brighter ranges of clothing, with an undertone of punk and grunge. Guaranteed to liven up any outfit, we’re huge fans of their S/S’13 lookbook. The fun and flirty looks are perfect for the summer days we all lust after, doing nothing without friends. Reminiscent of 90s summers in America, watching the sunset with our nearest and dearest whilst melting in the warm heat and blaring music from the jukebox (the type that we now only see in movies), the clothing at Bitching and Junkfood is the perfect choice to get you in that summer mood.
