Selfridges has caught David Bowie fever from the V&A
The David Bowie Is exhibition is running at the V&A and is hailed as “the first international retrospective of the extraordinary career of David Bowie”, but the Bowie magic doesn’t end there.
In collaboration with the V&A, Selfridges have this week launched David Bowie Is All Yours in their London Concept Store. This is a must-shop store for anybody wanting to pick a bit of Bowie style.
The V&A have brought along some of their bespoke products, which can only be found in the store or the museum. From limited edition prints to collector’s items there’s something for every era of Bowie and every taste.
Cult vintage fashion emporium Decades have put together a capsule collection for David Bowie Is All Yours and it is all available to buy. Man Who Fell to Earth-style YSL jackets grace the rails alongside sequined Gianni Versace pieces, flanked by a host of other famous names.
These vintage numbers are joined by modern day pieces in the Selfridges Edit, hand-picked pieces from the spring/summer 2013 ranges. Menswear and womenswear both show how the iconic singer and his equally iconic style are still influencing today’s designers and the clothes we wear.
To finish off your Bowie look, Illamasqua will be offering daily David Bowie makeovers throughout April. You have the option of three different “complete make-up transformations” as well as nail art designs. Illamasqua Creative Director and David Bowie fan, Alex Box, will lead bespoke master-classes drawing from the varying looks of Bowie through the ages.
Whether it’s clothes, make-up or collectables, Selfridges and the V&A have everything covered for any David Bowie fan this month.
