Aeco: The refreshing new label for students
Aeco is a label born from Ravensbourne University’s first fencing society and was founded by a group of ambitious first years. Amongst these first years is Team GB fencer Kirk Slankard. The brand hopes to provide essential everyday garments, stationery and sportswear that bear the society’s logo. Providing everything from notebooks to hoodies, Aeco believes it has everything a young creative student requires.
Aeco stands for the Greek quote: “Amor Et Consilium Omens,” which translated means “love and design forever”. The brand is recognised by its coat of arms logo; its gold crown and serpentine stripes represent Greater London, which is the location of the society.
A spokesperson for the brand talked exclusively to The Upcoming about the brand’s future and development. “The brand is looking to work within Ravensbourne for three years, while the founding team is still at university. The aim is to build our name and our representation, so when the team graduates they will be able to take Aeco with them, and to create it into a much larger label. Aeco aims to establish itself firmly both in the sporting, fashion and stationery world.”
The official website will launch later this year, and exclusive products will soon be available to purchase.
