Le Specs: back to the 80s with the “Kokomo” collection
Born in 1979 in Australia, eyewear-brand Le Specs met the European market quite recently in 2010. The brand is gaining success and recognition also in the Old Continent and is now launching the Summer 2013 collection Kokomo.
The fashionable collection looks back at the 80s reinventing classic shapes giving a modern and young twist: mirrored lens, neon details and colourful patterns. The glasses perfectly suit a poolside event, as well as other occasions.
Loud and colourful frames are a must, either people are looking for a new John Lennon-kind-of-look or they’re looking for something classic with a modern twist, Le Specs can reconcile different tastes and needs.
The collection presents frames like Halfmoom Magic and Ding a Ling that with their colours and thick plastic frames scream 80s. But there are also revisits of classic models such as the John Lennon-shape in a modern way. In Rudeboy the round lens has been replaced by a rhomboid one in a thin, metallic and dark frame.
The dominant colours are acid yellow, bright cobalt and vibrant mint on cats-eye, round and geometric shapes. Le Specs is a versatile brand that, during the years, collaborated with other fashion designers, participated to music events giving life to special precious editions.
One of the most famous and successful so far is the collaboration between the Australian brand and the British designer Henry Holland, the brilliant mind behind House of Holland. Their collection was one of the most anticipated of 2011.
Le Specs always show how to interpret new trends in its own terms, producing collections that are fashionable and carry the brand distinctive marks of freshness and youth.
This year, the Australian brand delivered another stupefying product that can be classy without renouncing at a younger and fresher look.
