Nina Naustdal celebrates 2nd anniversary with VIP guests
Nina Naustdal celebrated the second anniversary of her shop on the 9th May. The Norwegian, London-based fashion designer hosted the party in her shop in Walton Street, in the heart of Kensington. The luxury womenswear designer opened the shop on the 5th May 2011.
It looked like a luminous museum with fancy and glittering dresses and glasses cases showing off her jewellery collection. The designer, whose motto is “normal is boring”, presented a rich and luminous collection that includes fur, shocking colours and loud patterns.
Outside in the back garden, a gazebo with a bar inside welcomed the guests and protected them from the rainy weather. The minimal environment was adorned with boards showing pictures of Nina posing in front of the camera with important names in the showbiz and fashion industry. Anthony Hopkins, Bono Vox and Pandemonia were some of the most well-known faces in the crowd. Another board was set to allow the guests to express their congratulations and thoughts on the evening. Inside, a television played, in loop, one of Nina’s interviews and catwalk.
The atmosphere got chattier and lively as the guests came through, helped also by the presence of a DJ. By 7pm, the shop was crowded and Nina Naustdal made her appearance, welcomed by the flash of photographers in perfect VIP style.
The versatile designer has explored different areas of design: jewellery, shoes, accessories, wedding dresses, ready to wear collections and many others. She also produces two ready-to-wear collections and two couture collections a year.
The event saw the appearance of many VIPs; London-based songwriter Victoria Aitken, conceptual artist Pandemonia and TV presenters Noelle Reno and Lizzie Cundy attended the night amongst other well-known faces.
