Want to know how Parisians are so chic? Frenchologie will show you
Luxury lifestyle website, Frenchologie, is sharing with British women the je ne sais quoi which makes the French so chic. Last night, the brand hosted an exclusive event to teach guests a little about the charismatic French etiquette and unveil their Frenchologie Guide to French Etiquette.
Held in the French restaurant, Antidote, just off London’s Carnaby Street, an etiquette lesson from Tamiko Zablith, director of Minding Manners, was given. Valuable tips, including always hold your wine or champagne glass in your left hand leaving your right free to shake hands, and never keep your hands under the table at a meal in France, were taken in along with sparkling wine. Then the importance of food in France was explored through a wine and cheese tasting, which offered different types of cheese each with a specific wine to accompany it.
Frenchologie was founded by Beatrice Drovandi and Cecilia Cauville and launched in November last year with the aim of putting women one click away from French style and sophistication. The website not only sells beautiful clothes and jewellery by French designers but includes other aspects of French culture such as art, home wares and, most importantly, gourmet gastronomy.
“French women are renowned internationally for their simple and classic elegance, but a lot of hard work goes into maintaining and perfecting that image,” Cecilia Cauville, co-founder of Frenchologie, explains, “Frenchologie is here to make it easier for British women to channel that sophistication.”
The Frenchologie Guide to French Etiquette has been written for those who want to embody the French savoir-faire. To help successfully mix in French society and avoid any faux pas, the free guide covers little details from how many kisses are correct when greeting someone, to waiting for your host to say “bon appétit” before eating.
“What we offer on Frenchologie is a showcase of the latest French fashion and lifestyle products, and our guide to etiquette will also allow women to learn a little more about how to comport themselves in a way that exudes the style of les Parisiennes,” says Cauville.
