Pure Collection was founded in 2002 by cashmere-junkies Nick Falkingham and Adam Holdsworth. Their aim was to start a contemporary cashmere line that wasn’t as pricey as the traditional brands. Four years after the launch, it grew out to be the largest online cashmere retailer in the UK. All the cashmere is harvested from goats in Inner Mongolia by traditional herders. The extremely cold climate makes Mongolia “the home of the world’s finest cashmere”. The country is infamous for its herding and agriculture.

However, Pure Collection decided not only to focus on Mongolia’s cashmere by also paying attention to the social problems in the country. By supporting the Christina Noble Foundation, Pure Collection shows to be conscience of the social conditions of its land of source. They look further than their product alone, which should be an example to other brands. The Christina Noble Children’s Foundation has special programmes in Mongolia to improve the health and safety of children. In certain Mongolian populations, there’s a high risk for children to be exposed to economic and sexual exploitation. The foundation tries to prevent this with special educational programmes and by making basic care accessible.
