Design your own Pitango bicycle!
Cycling is not only good for the environment and your health but it is also pretty chic right now. The only trouble is, bikes often come in fairly boring colours and always with black tires – not so cool. But this may soon be a thing of the past thanks to urban bike brand Pitango. The innovative new company not only has colourful cycles but offers cyclists the chance to design their own bespoke bike.
Aimed at everyone from cool hipsters to eco-conscious commuters, Pitango’s S/S’13 collection of vibrant coloured frames, seats and wheels give customers something of a blank canvas, making boring bikes a thing of the past. A selection of summer’s hottest pantone shades, from pretty powder blue to mocha and bright pillar box red to racing green, are available for each section of your bike.
Beginning with a high quality steel frame in whichever shade you fancy, Pitango then offer three styles of handlebar and your favourite colour combinations for the tyres, wheels, chainset, seat and bartape.
You avid cyclists out there might be thinking, this is all very well but I’d rather opt for quality over colour. Well with Pitango you can have both. The build is streamlined and sturdy with Chromo steel lugged forks and thick 28mm tyres for a balanced and comfortable ride.
Founded by a schoolteacher a mountain guide and a sous-chef, Pitango was born after the three became bored of seeing the same bike designs and colours all over the city. “Designing great bikes for good people” is the brands aim, allowing customers to stamp their bike with their own individuality.
