The Rooftop Bar Launch Party at Queen of Hoxton
It’s baaaacckkk! Yes, the rooftop bar is back in business at hipster haven Queen of Hoxton.
After journeying up seven flights of stairs to the top of the building, guests defiantly stuck a finger up at the drizzle and got my summer barbeque on. For those of you that have never visited Queen of Hoxton, it sits in the heart of East London and is spread over a series of floors that feature a little something for everyone: gigs, exhibitions, club nights and even table football. However, the rooftop is the jewel in its crown. Sat above the city on AstroTurf, you can enjoy dirty barbecued burgers, and drinks from the bar including a good selection of frozen cocktails, all set to a chilled summer soundtrack with a fountain to match.
The evening was moved downstairs to make way for the Rooftop Film Club, which forms part of their alfresco summer events programme, alongside silent disco parties and more. Judging by last year’s schedule, which included Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution Day and a celebration for the Queen’s Jubilee, it’s definitely worth keeping an eye on their website.
Although the heat was coming from the patio heater and not from a setting sun, with its painted picnic benches, shed-shaped bars and enough fairy lights to illuminate Never Never Land, you will surely struggle to have a bad time here.
