Trend alert: flattering stripes
It seems that we will all be dressed in coloured lines this season as assorted designs of stripes have been seen lining up the runways. Huge names like Vivienne Westwood, Prada and Dolce&Gabbana have pulled out all the stops with bold and bright stripes from head to toe and in every direction. We are sure it won’t be long until horizontal and vertical striped garments will be flying off the rails of our favourite high street stores in the coming months.
If you are worried about how to wear the trend or if you can pull it off, then don’t fret, we have plenty of ideas for every shape and style taste. No need to earn your stripes, just have a browse at the treats on offer below.
These River Island striped dresses in pastel pink and blue fit both the trend and the season. They would look great and flattering on most body types, nipping you in at the waist and elongating the length of your legs. At £60 each these beauties would be a great investment and are perfect summer dresses.
Topshop have plenty of monochrome loveliness going on, so why not kill two trends with one stone. The vertical stripes of both the dresses will make you look slimmer and fit curves in all the right places while the crop top would be great for those with a bigger chest. Team with a high-waisted skater skirt for the perfect look.
Zara always have simple yet classy pieces and we love the stripy looks they have on offer. These orange shorts would look great with a cute blouse, strappy sandals and light tan. The striped sweater has that authentic nautical feel and would be great with cropped skinnies and large sunglasses.
So join in the stripes trend, there is bound to be something that perfectly walks your line.
