Graduate Fashion Week 2013, Earls Court: day two
The fun-filled week of fashion continues at Earls Court and a sense of sophistication dominated the exhibition centre today. Designers from the Istituto Marangoni delivered beautiful feminine pieces that looked as if they belonged to the likes of Victoria Beckham and Anna Wintour. The collection was made up of exquisite looks, and oozed complete class.
With the promotion and encouragement of more new designers and the growth of independent business, Graduate Fashion Week put on an industry talk during the day with a CV workshop, offering individuals vital advice to help with future careers. Displaying the success of new names in fashion was George’s pop-up store, which showcased designer Claire Acton’s pieces. Claire won George’s G12 competition last year and is an example of how young designers can achieve success.
The University of Creative Arts in Rochester was one of the universities who put on a catwalk show today. The students at the university created an exciting event, full of punchy pieces. The designs included flowing white dresses with splashes of acid tones, outfits made up of darker palettes such as deep purples and blues, as well as clean cut and structured statement looks. The first year students at the university offered variety and creativity, demonstrating the talent of today.
