Graduate Fashion Week 2013, Earls Court: day three
The busy atmosphere continued at Graduate Fashion Week and today’s main attractions included gorgeous underwear and fabulous pieces by De Montfort University. The university students have created a feminine underwear line called Contour, which includes pretty bralets and underwear sets in lace and silk; the range is delicate yet modern and perfectly on trend.
Along with Contour, students from De Montfort University have also created an array of wonderful pieces, including jackets, ponchos and footwear. The colours are soft and the feel is futuristic; the collection sums up the young and energetic style of today’s new designers.
In contrast to the pastel palette from the designers at De Montfort University, students at the University of Northampton created classic and clean-cut pieces. A gorgeous formal-cut printed suit and dress with fur shrug were on display at the university’s stand. Along with these tailored pieces were vibrant accessories, which included bold print silk scarves, presented in giant bowls to create a colourful centre piece. The university also set up a shoe cabinet to display the stunning and unique footwear that students had created.
Another eye-catching stand belonged to the University of South Wales in Newport. Designer Amy Louise Jones created beautiful textured gowns as well as statement pieces decorated with gold embellishment and beadwork. The display was glamorous and brightened up its corner of the exhibition centre.
