Weekend Offender unveils first children’s collection
Menswear retailer Weekend Offender has unveiled their first children’s collection – an intuitive compilation of their prominent masculine-fuelled designs, boasting baby grows, hoodies, polos and t-shirts.
Reflecting somewhat of the brand’s core aesthetics, the children’s line entitled Young Offenders provides consumers with a bitesize collection similarly invigorated with the eclecticism of the labels’ fundamentals seen within the menswear demographic. This capsule presence – for newborns to early teenagers – captures the urban streetwear ethos, stimulated by this identifiable British culture inhabited within, culminating in pieces exuberated with casual, timeless facades with comfort subsequently tailored within. With bold self-christened prints fortifying the exteriors, the brand’s established eye-catching iconography will ensure that the pieces will stand alone in their originality, and portray the attitude that has aided their success within the industry.
The Weekend Offender label was established in 2004 by creative partners Sam Jones and Rhydian Powell – a forum built upon the merging of their individual attributes, pioneering innovative conceptual designs, visually arresting a presence within the industry. Critiqued as one of the most exciting urban figureheads, the label has adopted influences from music, film and other subcultures – such as terrace casuals and the acid house scene – resonating significantly throughout their designs. Often deemed to be provocative and sometimes controversial, the label deviates away from the norm paved by others within the menswear genre, evolving their quirky vibrancy, creating a widened appeal. Evidence in growth has seen the label’s online interface cascade onto the British pavement with the opening of their flagship store in London’s Soho, housing both garment and the Weekend Offender barber chair for a sprightly trim.
With adorable one-liners and simplistic facades, the newest addition to the Weekend Offender ensemble has accommodated its target consumer to a fine extent. Incorporating patriarchal charisma from the primary menswear line yet nurturing a newer, innovative platform with enviable pricing starting at just £20.00, dressing has now been made even simpler…like father, like son.
