Crooks & Castles: from LA to the UK
Something big has taken LA by storm and now the UK will feel the full force of Crooks & Castles.
Crooks & Castles have a really fascinating history behind them. The guys at the label have always rooted for the villain, whether it’s in a movie, comic book, novel, rap song or everyday life. They grew up in Los Angeles during the 80’s and 90’s and became part of a villainous lifestyle. Gangs were everywhere and most people had no choice but to adapt to the environment. However, something grabbed the attention of the guys during the mid 90’s – independent fashion/graphic brands. The concept behind the name is easy: “Crooks” are criminals, pimps, hustlers, thieves etc. and “Castles” refers to those who get rich through such means.
Crooks & Castles continues to grow stronger, and for Summer 2013 they’re bringing their latest collection to the UK. The collection features bandana prints, serpent influence, thuxury wovens and more classic Crooks themes. The Bandana Group features of the heritage of the label and offers imagery on a variety of short sleeve button-downs, board shorts, bucket hats, five-panels and tanks.
The Thuxury 2.0 collection is the most comprehensive collection found in Crooks & Castles’ summer release. Colour fade patterns make a bold return in this group, as does an interesting weave pattern that hints at the upscale.
The pieces from the Summer 2013 collection are great for guys who are heading off to festivals this summer. Whether you’re a hipster, prefer something a bit grungy or you just want something comfortable, Crooks & Castles will have something for you.
