Top tips for healthy hair, skin and nails
The summer is upon us which is always tough on our beauty regime. With tanning, swimming in the sea and other summer indulgences, our bodies need some TLC. These tips are a great way to take care of your hair, skin and nails so that they can be as healthy as they can be this summer.
1. Drink water
It sounds so simple but it really is important. Sometimes we don’t even realise we are dehydrating ourselves, especially when we are abroad in the sun! It’s recommended that we should drink two litres of water a day, not only does it keep us feeling fresh, it keeps skin hydrated and the body feeling healthy!
2. Include vitamins in your diet
For hair and nails particularly, it’s all about good nutrition. Invest in a multi-vitamin and ensure you get enough calcium. Vitamins B12, biotin, iron, protein, and the fatty acids found in fish and nuts are vital in maintaining healthy hair and strong nails.
3. Indulge in oil treatments
Hot oil treatments are also a great way to revitalise your hair and skin. With a range of beautiful scented and relaxing oils to choose from, this is an easy way to refresh your skin and treat your hair to a spa inspired treatment.
4. Remove make-up
The hugely important tip, that we all sometimes forget accidently – never sleep with make-up on! Again, it sounds so obvious, but after nights on the town and socialising with friends, it’s sometimes easy to come home and hit the pillow without touching the make-up remover. But taking your make-up off will make ensure that the previous night’s dirt is gone and the pores are able to breathe in the morning – though it may not cure the headaches!
5. Protect your skin from the sun
It’s tempting to use low factor sprays and oils abroad to get a great tan, but the skin is sensitive and the sun is dangerous. Always use a high factor when abroad and in direct sunlight and apply regularly, you’ll still look wonderfully bronzed but you will be protected too!
