How to be festival chic!
Here in the UK, as soon as summer hits it can mean only one thing… Festival season is upon us! With so many festivals to choose from we are spoilt for choice, but once we have made the decision, bought the tickets, packed the tent there is still one huge decision to make: how do we do our hair and make-up?
This past weekend saw the UK’s biggest festival take place. Glastonbury is spread over five days and has become a haven for fashionistas who travel the country to be part of the festivities!
It is not just what you wear that matters anymore, your hair and make-up play a massive part too. Gone are the days of grinning and bearing the mud and dirt, washing with wet wipes, and leaving your hair to become a home for who knows what. Looking the part for a festival is as crucial as remembering to pack your ticket!
Over the past few years festival make-up has become all the rage and the weirder and wackier the better! Glitter, gems, feathers, bindis, body paint – anything goes!
Festival hair trends are full of volume, beautiful braids and gorgeous curls, all adorned with feathers, flowers and as much sparkle as possible.
Flower head dresses are also a staple accessory; these are available in most high-street stores and are also extremely easy to make yourself!
Festival make-up has to be big, bold and bright! Glitter is a must and topping it up with gems gives it added sparkle.
Brightly coloured lips will go down a treat and is the perfect look to pull off for those of you who want to go ultra light on the packing!
At most festivals now there are pampering services available, offering beauty treatments, hair styling and make-up, so if you don’t fancy doing it yourself you don’t have to worry!
Whichever festival you may be planning on going to this year be sure to pack the glitter, a brightly coloured lippy and some flowers for your hair. You may be in your wellies but you will still look fabulous!
