Kesh brings wearable art to American Apparel
There is absolutely nothing better than two of your favourite things coming together to create something new. From music to fashion, the right combination of creative minds can yield some groundbreaking results. High-end ready-to-wear retailer American Apparel has teamed up with British artistic designer, Kesh, to create an über cool brainchild of super rare monochromatic looks for men and women. With t-shirts, briefs and tanks for men and cropped tops, bodycons, and bikinis for the ladies, the collection brings the artist’s exclusive black-and-white geometric prints straight from the canvas to the streets.
Designing and styling clothes for her web of high profile celebrities from Azealia Banks to Mariah Carrey, Kesh has an undeniable cool factor rooted in her overwhelming artistic involvement in both the fashion and music scenes. While gracing the covers of some of fashion’s most notable publications and editing for SuperSuper Magazine, the artist humbly started out selling her designs to eager fans on Myspace. As her network continued to grow, the designer became a prominent face in London’s nu rave scene, Djing parties throughout Europe before returning focus to her artwork and designs.
Shortly after the launch of her first gallery in Los Angeles last year, Kesh’s $6,000 prints completely sold out to the likes of Cara Delevigne and Kanye West. The collaboration with American Apparel acts as yet another cross-over for the artist, bringing her prints from the elite to the masses. Judging by Kesh’s track record, the wearable art will predictably sell out in a similar fashion, so act fast!
