Beauty alert: get your feet sandal worthy
The weather has finally picked up and it’s starting to look like summer has arrived. Before we break out those sandals though, we should give our feet a quick MOT.
First of all remove any nail polish and then you need to give your feet a good soak. Get a bowl and fill it with warm water, add a couple of drops of lavender or peppermint oil and relax.
Next we need to scrub! This will help get rid of any dirt but will also help to remove dry and dead skin on the feet. Take a cup of sugar or salt and mix in enough olive oil to form a paste. Rub this all over your feet paying particular attention to your heels and the balls of your feet where the skin is usually hardest. Rinse your feet clean and pat dry, repeat if necessary.
Now it’s moisturising time. Take a good foot moisturiser and apply generously all over your feet. You may like to buy some pedicure socks, these you can wear overnight and they keep your moisturiser from wiping off.
Now our feet are clean and soft we can start to decorate. Trim your tow nails and shape them with a nail file. Buff out any ridges with a nail buffer and apply a base coat. Sweep over a nice bright summer shade of polish and finish off with a topcoat for extra shine.
