Beyond Retro: rocking the frock since 1920
Leading Vintage UK retailer Beyond Retro launches their “School of Frock” campaign this month. The campaign, aims to provide customers online and retail customers with a retrospective look into the history of the dress.
The campaign could not have been timed better as the streets are filled with ladies young and old adorning dresses of all colours and prints, soaking up the summer sun.
Beyond Retro believes the dress to be a definitive historical item of clothing and would like to educate the public of its origin and growth throughout the 20th century. They are providing information to the public that will be backed from contributions from famous vintage lovers in the industry, one-of-a-kind events and competitions.
To mark the campaign Beyond Retro will also be releasing exclusive pieces from their design archive, one-off items such as trendy denim pinafores to vintage floral dresses. The campaign aims to focus on a particular styled frock each week for the month of July.
The design archive which spans from the 1920’s, will provide the public with a visual experience by providing an exhibition display in their Dalston store. Beyond Retro offers customers an exciting opportunity to own one of these precious designs by holding a silent auction where customers can place a bid in store or online.
In keeping with historical trip down vintage lane, Beyond Retro also invites customers to bring in their vintage dress to be valued by their “Cash in the Closet” team. Customers will also have a chance to share vintage photos of special dresses that might have a significant story or memory. The retailer encourages true nostalgia by hinting at thoughts and photos of “your grandmother’s wedding dress and your mother dancing in her favourite frock”.
To top off this trip down memory lane, Beyond Retro is giving away a dress a week to lucky followers on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest. To stand a chance to win one of these frocks, share your favourite dress. The campaign runs for the month of July and a draw is made each Monday so the customer has their frock for the weekend.
