Leave nothing to the imagination this summer
As wallets get tighter through this recession, so seemingly does our clothing. This past year has seen a wide succession of quirky new shapes and alternative routes to showing off our figure. Instead of a shirt skirt, we’ve seen an influx of maxi skirts with crop tops. Leggings are no longer just for the gym and have merged with jeans to create jeggings, the ultimate item for keeping it casual whilst showing off your figure. Instead of the standard bikini, we’ve seen swimming costumes emerge in all shapes and sizes, with varying degrees of cut-out sections and bondage-style detail.
That said, is it possible for the “quirky alternative” to be taken too far in terms of showing off your bod? Here are a few products that think the answer to that question is no.
Sick of waistbands? We thought so. For those who are truly dedicated to the art of covering up in the most creative ways, witness the C-string. Nobody is quite sure how this innovative piece of clothing stays in place, but rest assured, whether you are or not, people on the beach will look twice to see if you’ve forgotten your undies. But at least you can focus on avoiding tan lines!
Again, a product that highlights the hatred for tan lines. Here is a simple yet sticky solution allowing you to tan your back without resorting to a low-back swimming costume. Tried and tested by DD+ breasts, the Demikini is a stick-on bikini top, a force to be reckoned with. So now you can tan your tum as well as your back with no pesky strap marks.
Whilst some women are convinced that one can “feel” a camel toe, this is the product for those who disagree. For leggings, shorts and underwear that are as tight as possible, SmoothGroove presents their cup. At £15, a cheaper alternative might be to wear slightly more forgiving clothing, but who are we to judge?
So what do you think? Are these innovative designs a peek into the future of fashion technology, or are they simply more quirkily designed, destined for the embarrassed flashbacks of fashion history?
