Get creative with MaryKayatPlay!

Yesterday, we were invited to the launch of Mary Kay cosmetics’ brand new collection, MaryKayatPlay.

Not many Brits are familiar with the brand, but this range is sure to make a few waves in our beauty industry. The Texas based company has actually been around since 1963, and is incredibly popular in the States and Russia.

The ethos behind it is all about youth, fun and originality; something that was certainly reflected at the launch, which was held at Bounce ping-pong club in Holborn – we were even given our very own Mary Kay paddles.

Since the collection is aimed at Generation Y, it is reasonably priced; products range between £7 and £8. However, it does have a universal appeal for any woman wanting to try something new. There are neutrals mixed with brights, ranging from earthy greens and browns to vibrant plums and daring blues.

The eye trios let you to try out something a little bolder without getting it wrong colour-wise; the eye crayons go on like a dream and are really blend-able.

The glosses range from the understated to the audacious and, if a little gloopy, give a polished finishing touch to any look. The best thing is that each has a lip crayon partner, which gives you a solid base to go underneath.

Nothing ground-breaking, but still a really useful range if you’re looking to be a bit more experimental and inventive with your day-to-day look.
