Alexa Chung’s new make-up line for Eyeko
Alexa Chung’s most recent retail adventure is a collaborative project with renowned make-up brand Eyeko London, creator of Chung’s favourite Skinny Liquid Liner, the product responsible for Chung’s staple 60s liner flicks.
Chung spoke to Vogue about her first encounter with the brand: “I can’t remember where I first learned about Eyeko, but it was definitely on a shoot. One of the make-up artists was using their eyeliner pen on me, and I just thought it was a great product. I met up with Max from Eyeko and we got along very well. I was inspired by his energy and the products themselves. So, I started scribbling down ideas about how they could improve them and coming up with little puns that I could see or imagine on the barrels of the tubes. I just felt the whole company seemed fun and it got my creative juices flowing and it became quite an organic collaboration.”
The brand works solely with eyeliners, mascaras and eyebrow products at the moment, and are eager to see what Chung will bring to the table. Chung and Eyeko created a $45 (approx £29) set featuring a waterproof black eyeliner and a waterproof black mascara. Eager Eyeko/Chung fans awaiting the product can pre-order the limited edition “Alexa Set”, out in Selfridges in November, by signing up to the list on the Eyeko London website. Failing that, it will hopefully debut in the US with Sephora in 2014.
Eyeko was launched in 1999 by Nina and Max Leykinds, who are extremely excited about the collaboration, describing Chung as “a game changer”.
