Hayley Scanlan drops into Topshop

This September marks some interesting events, one of those events being the launch of Hayley Scanlan’ s clothing range dubbed Queen of Hearts into Topshop stores. The second being the much anticipated London Fashion Week!

The Queen of Hearts collection takes leadership and inspiration from two great contrasting icons, Debbie Harry and Mary Queen of Scots. Harry is the leader singer for the punk rock band Blondie, known for her influence on the punk scene and Mary the female monarch. Although they had contrasting lifestyle both women hold a sense of strength and rebellion.

“Debbie Harry is one of my icons. I loved the idea of pairing someone like her with an equally rebellious heroine, Mary Stuart, the former Queen of Scotland. This is a collection that has taken me deep into the heart of my Scottish roots and represents a strong and feisty femininity.” says Scanlan about the collection.

Boasting a range of jackets, skirts and Hayley’s signature digital print dresses the line is typical of Scanlan’ s heritage with a royal inspired colour palette of cobalt blue, deep red and a black & white Prince of Wales check.

Scanlan is known for her attention to the detailed design of women’s wear, and this collection is no different; the range has been created with the women’s silhouette in mind and use of hand embellishments can be found on each garment.
