Matches Fashion partners up with David Longshaw for a series of fashion based events
Matches Fashion started out in 1990 near the creator’s home in Wimbledon. With 13 stores now open across London the British fashion label has worked with numerous high-end designers including Burberry Prorsum, Diane von Fürstenberg and YSL. Their latest partnership will see them collaborate with David Longshaw, the genius behind Maude the fashion mouse, to create a series of fashion based endevours. They will also be re-launching the bi-weekly print publication The Style Report available from www.matchesfashion.com, all in honour of the up and coming London Fashion Week.
Having been wonderfully inspired by Maude the fashion mouse, a cute character created by David whilst he studied at St Martins, The Matches Fashion team have teamed up with David to produce three original and exciting displays for its central London store windows. The spectacles will feature Maude and her cashmere buddies styled in an array of pieces from the Matches Fashion autumn/winter 2013 collections.
Maude will also be lucky enough to attend London Fashion Week where she will be the guest editor for The Style Report. Whilst at the event the mini fashionista will be tweeting and blogging to keep us all updated on the latest gossip of the much-anticipated event.
As if that wasn’t enough Matches Fashion joined forces with Yauatcha, the modern Chinese teahouse located in Soho and hosted an event at the start of September where Longshaw decorated the windows of Yauatcha with his London Fashion Week inspired drawings. Guests enjoyed bespoke macaroons baked by Graham Hornigold, the executive pastry chef at Hakkasan and were able to watch as Longshaw unveiled his artistic talent.
