HTC and David Koma collaborate on exclusive smartphone collection

Global smartphone brand HTC has teamed up with British fashion designer David Koma, to create an exclusive limited edition HTC One mini collection.

The fashion industry’s rising star has created two exclusive designs for the HTC One mini, ahead of London Fashion Week. Ten of these special edition handsets will be available for you to win in a competition hosted by HTC on Twitter.

The theme behind both handset designs is that of “change”, with Koma reflecting on his previous autumn/winter 2013 collection for one cover, whilst giving us an early preview of what we can expect from the new spring/summer 2014 collection on the other. Koma’s hotly anticipated new spring/summer 2014 collection will be showcased on 14^th September during London Fashion Week.

“Change” is the perfect word to describe both Koma’s and HTC’s work. HTC are a global leader in terms of mobile innovation, whilst Koma continues to bring exciting new designs to the fashion world, dressing the likes of Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Beyonce. It therefore seems fitting that the two have joined forces, bringing together their innovative designs, to create a truly striking smartphone.

The HTC One mini has already taken the mobile phone market by storm, boasting many award-winning features, such as an ultrapixel camera and dual frontal stereo speakers. In terms of the design, the HTC One mini is utterly stylish, being of a sleeker build to the HTC One, whilst encased in an aluminium unibody. It is on this aluminium back panel that Koma’s two designs are displayed on the special edition collection.

In an official statement about the exciting partnership, David Koma gave us an insight into what inspired his designs: “The designs I’ve created for this special edition of the HTC One mini mirror the transition in style from my previous season’s collection to my upcoming one. Pushing boundaries and exploring new techniques play a huge part in how I bring a collection together. Taking part in this project has been a very exciting experience for me and an opportunity to find inspiration working with new materials.”

HTC’s competition to win one of these exclusive David Koma phones is running up until the 25^th September on their Twitter page @HTC_UK, where they are giving away just ten of these unique handsets.
