LFW – John Rocha S/S 2014 collection
A slight delay, some confused perambulating in attempts to find seats, but it was certainly worth the few unintentional elbows in the side. John Rocha delivered yet another line of fantastic pieces for his SS14 collection. It all kicked off at the BFC Showspace at Somerset House. The Upcoming was there to witness the designer’s fabulous new collection.
It began with a wash of rich colour – romantic and whimsical gowns swirled down the runway. Models were topped with intricately designed hats featuring exaggerated visors. Similar to last year’s collection, voluminous skirts were showcased, ruffles ran to the ground and floral detail announced an enchanting tone. However, it wasn’t long before his signature style of simplicity arrived.
Sheer whites appeared with an elegant detail twisted subtly throughout. Streaks of red roses swirled to accentuate one of the gowns, whilst others remained modest yet chic; the loose fitting gowns swam elegantly down the runway.
To break up the innocence, a more seductive look appeared. Stark black shimmied into the collection, concluding the line with vigour. Lace featured on most of the final pieces with some featuring ruffles and sheer panelling.
The show came to a swift end, and satisfied onlookers made their way out of the venue. Bustling through the crowds, we spotted John Rocha enjoying a drink and a laugh with a friend. He definitely had something to smile about – his show was immense!
