My Asho Market: buy yourself bohemian
As the days become drabber, and autumn gradually phases into fifty shades of grey, your clothing doesn’t have to follow suit. Bohemian is the perfect candlelit route to follow when you want to incense your life, and possibly make everyone you meet hanker after your exotic presence.
My Asho was established in 2009 by Dolapo Shobanjo, promising to deliver “something different”, always a tantalising saying in the emerging fashion world. The unique pieces that the online store specialises in not only scream a “sense of individuality”, but they also cannot be found on the high street. This means that you can say “good riddance” to running away from the on-comer that shares the same top as you.
The online shop sells pieces that are really something spectacular, with most items being “ethnically hand-crafted and of limited supply”, and all of them allowing you to self-indulge in your very own eclectic eccentricity. There’s nothing stopping you from being part of the break-through brand that masters “combining a minimalist’s appreciation for exquisite tailoring and cuts, whilst harnessing the maximalist’s understanding of bold, creative prints”. A bandwagon that many a person would be more than happy to jump onto.
In only a matter of four short years, the company has not only found itself a firm spot in covering the niche for those craving distinctive clothing, but also this year Shobanjo introduced their sister brand, My Asho Market. This store specialises in covering for a quick fashion fix, allowing the “fashion savvy shopper to keep up to date with the latest trends, whilst retaining a sense of individuality with unique pieces”. They provide the simplicity and affordable prices of high-street shopping, but are a world away from the generic items that it offers.
Both stores are blissfully unique, with My Asho being the older, more sophisticated sister, having the slate grey background to let the clothes speak for themselves, and My Asho Market being the younger, quirky sister that just wants to splatter colour and beautiful patterns everywhere. Any shopper that has set their sights on looking divine for autumn should make these two stores their first (and perhaps only) port-of-call.
