Private display of pearls at the V&A
Last night, Pond’s Institute displayed a spectacular collection of pearls dating from the early Roman Empire to the present day. Displayed through Victorian safes to clear display cases, it was a twist of classic to a slight quirky feel. Not only were the pearls displayed in jewellery, but also in dresses and painted portraits backing the images that allure us into pearls. We saw Cartier, Tiffany, Elizabeth Taylor’s earrings and Mary Queen of Scots’ necklace. Priceless pieces which still amaze – a must-see if you are in London, for sure.
To celebrate the private viewing of pearls, Pond’s Institute ambassador Laura Whitmore educated us on her love for pearls, and wore a beautiful bracelet by luxury jeweller Winterson – a classic saltwater Akoya pearl.
A personal favourite at the V&A Qatar Museum was The Dagmar Necklace worn by the Danish princess Alexandra in 1863.
Pond’s Institute has been one of the longest and most trusted skincare brands at extremely reasonable prices, ranging from £4.07 to £7.99. This year they were rebranded in a move to celebrate the creators of the classic trusted collection.
