J Model Management and UPS deliver on fashion
Catastrophe struck the fashion industry when a dress designed by Portuguese fashion house Joana Montez & Patricia de Melo for the J Autumn Fashion Show did not pitch in time for a pre-show shoot on the Grand Canyon Skywalk.
As previously reported, the show is being organised and led by daring fashion model and fashion show organiser, Jessica Minh Anh. The dress was due to be shipped from Europe to America for the highly anticipated J Autumn Fashion Show pre-show photo shoot on the Grand Canyon Skywalk on 14th September 2013.
In a series of events that could be told in a movie, the shipment did not leave Europe in time, leaving it up to the J Management team to track and source the dress hours before the actual shoot.
With the help of UPS, the Las Vegas Management team managed to located and source the dress, just in time for the shoot: ‘“We immediately tracked the package and found the plane carrying the shipment to Louisville, KY. Our team located the package and rerouted it to Ontario, CA. From there, one of our supervisors drove 4 hours to Las Vegas. And then a member of the Vegas team hand delivered it to Jessica Minh Anh, just before midnight on 13 September 2013,” said Tom Cuce, UPS director of operations, South California District.
The pre-shoot gives the industry a glimpse into the spectacular show that is being staged on the Grand Canyon and will include hundreds of other dresses by creative designers from five continents on the world’s most unique J Autumn Fashion Show catwalk on 1st November 2013.
With the dress being the centre of attention, the shoot went off successfully, and J Management attributes some of the success on the efficiency and assistance from UPS: “Without the excellent service of the UPS team in America, we wouldn’t have been able to hold the shoot on schedule. It’s not only the result of the delivery but also their genuine concerns and constant contacts with our side that touches me. I am absolutely impressed,” said Jessica Minh Anh. Employees in Louisville, Ontario and Las Vegas were all part of the service chain and played a critical role in the entire process.
