Blurred Lines dancer models for Rag & Bone
Model Emily Ratajkowski shot to fame after appearing alongside Robin Thicke and Pharrell in their controversial risqué Blurred Lines music video, which saw her dance around the pair with little to no clothes on. Following her video appearance, Ratajkowski has been hotly sought after; it is therefore perhaps no surprise the brunette beauty has been chosen as the new face of fashion brand Rag & Bone.
Ratajkowski is set to follow in the footsteps of the modelling elite such as Miranda Kerr, Lily Aldridge, Erin O’Connor, Candice Swanepoel and Karolina Kurkova, as she takes part in Rag & Bone’s latest advertisement campaign.
For the Rag & Bone DIY Project Ratajkowski was given a bag of Rag & Bone clothes and a camera, and told to shoot an ad campaign for the brand, however she chose to do so.
Marc Wainwright, one half of the mastermind duo behind Rag & Bone, explained to Vogue magazine: “As a model and actress, Emily takes on roles and is given direction, but the beauty of the DIY Project is that the girl has free reign to do whatever she wants. So it was an opportunity for her to show how she sees herself.”
Slightly overwhelmed by the exposure the Blurred Lines video has given her, Ratajkowski admitted to Vogue “it’s an exciting and crazy transition time” for her, which is what inspired her DIY campaign: “I wanted to capture that by shooting basically in my empty apartment and around the city – it’s a fresh start.”
