Topshop and Kate Bosworth release The Collection for A/W 2013
Moss isn’t the only famous Kate to collaborate with Topshop. With a brand new collection, that’s available now, Kate Bosworth has put her fashion stamp on the brand. Returning to the Topshop design studio for her second collaboration, the actress has put a little of her chic style into a 46-piece collection that’s already been named “the ultimate capsule wardrobe for winter”.
The Collection is a little more grown up than Bosworth’s last contribution to the brand, which had a festival boho feel, with juxtaposed masculine and feminine shapes, and oversized and fitted silhouettes.
“I wanted to balance a neat, clean line with an oversized shape, to mix feminine and masculine,” Bosworth told Grazia. “The colour scheme is Mondrian inspired – black and whites mixed with cracked metallics and a pop of red.”
A bold palette of black, white and red are given a glamorous twist with metallic silver and snakeskin. Slick leather biker pants are softened by cashmere t-shirts, and oversized collarless shearling jackets are given a feminine touch with metallic leather skirts.
A handful of accessories add to the casual just-thrown-together feel of The Collection, with metallic clutch and sheepskin bags, chunky framed sunglasses and shimmering metallic belts. Premium pointed-toe court shoes, in mock snakeskin and black, and stiletto ankle boots, add a sense of sophistication to Bosworth’s range, naturally matching any other piece in the collection.
The range is a little pricey with stretch skinny leather trousers priced at £295 and the beautiful waterfall sheepskin coat at £595, definitely investment pieces. However, if you want to bag a little of Bosworth’s style for under £100, look out for the sheer black blouse with zip (£65), cable high-neck sweater (£40) and accessories from £12.
