Jerome C Rousseau S/S 2014 footwear collection
Are you tired of the dark autumn days? Would you rather start planning your spring wardrobe? Jerome C Rousseau will make sure your feet are real eye-catchers next season with its stunning S/S 2014 collection.
The Canadian-born shoe designer launched his first collection in 2008. His designs are elegant but never boring, and are therefore meant to be on the red carpet. Jerome C Rousseau’s footwear designs have been featured in leading fashion magazines and are the shoes of choice for Charlize Theron, Cameron Diaz, Miranda Kerr, Scarlett Johansson and many more.
He started developing a strong interest in fashion, especially footwear in his teenage years. Jerome C Rousseau’s designs were initially inspired by retro footwear featured in a Deee-Lite music video. Since then the young designer has won the “Who Is On Next” accessories award by Vogue Italia in 2010, and has designed the exclusive Miss Piggy Diva Glitter Pumps in 2012.
The Jerome C Rousseau S/S 2014 collection takes the shoe lover back to nature, using materials such as pony skin, croc leather, python and cork.
The line draws inspiration from the African Omo tribe with glamorous bead embellishments, laser cut floral patterns and leather stitches. The most unique piece in the collection is a peep-toe bootie embellished with 7,000 beads, including coral, vintage Czech, glass and freshwater pearls. This shoe is the masterpiece of the collaboration between the shoe designer and Emily J Snyder, who is mostly known for her beaded jewellery works.
“It’s one of the pieces I’m the most proud of, Emily worked for 82 hours beading it,” the designer told the LA Times.
