What will you be wearing to bed this winter?
It’s officially winter! It’s icy, it’s cold and ridiculously foggy outside. But that doesn’t mean you can’t be warm, comfortable and stylish inside, especially with your nightwear. With so many choices and styles to choose from this season, the question on everyone’s lips is “what will you be wearing to bed this winter?” So forget about planning the Christmas party outfit, it’s all about picking the perfect nightwear for bed this winter and boy do we have a lot of choices for you.
Pyjamas
Let’s start with the typical nightwear: pyjamas. These are perfect for those girls who love to curl up in bed with a good book and a cup of hot chocolate. Whether you’re in a hotel, watching movies all day, having a midnight snack or gossiping with your best friend under the sheets, pyjamas are a lovely way to look and feel cosy at home and in bed. Two words: pyjama party.
Sweats
Specifically known as jogging bottoms and hoodies. Every girl, actually every person owns sweats. They provide instant comfort and scream “I’m tired”, “I don’t care what I look like”, “I just want to be warm and comfortable”. Usually a mix-match of clothing and two different types of socks, sweats are easy to wear and require no effort.
Two-piece set
These are like pyjamas but cuter and with less material, mainly because they’re wildly sold as a top and shorts cami combo. These are always a very cute choice, especially in the summer. But for a winter twist make sure you add socks or a house robe on top, and turn on the heating because we don’t want you to catch a cold!
Nightgowns
Ok, we know what you’re thinking: aren’t nightgowns old-fashioned? However, we at The Upcoming prefer the word “classic”. And classic is something that will never go out of style.
Slip dresses
Before ladies like Courtney Love and Taylor Momsen were wearing slip dresses to parties and clubs and prior to them becoming a fashion staple in the 90s, slip dresses were actually a type of nightwear (or undergarment). Oh how times have changed. Now slip dresses are back, where they belong but are still managing to make a huge fashion statement in and out of the bedroom.
Onesies
Saving possibly the best type of nightwear for last: the onesie. These puppies are beyond comfortable and define that act of “having a lazy day”. There’s something very childlike about onesies and remind us of a simpler time of getting up on Saturday morning to watch cartoons while eating cereal on the sofa. Onesies are everywhere (from Primark to Topshop) and are always popular around Christmas time. Many admit to wearing them on Christmas morning, as do we all. As the most loveable, fun and carefree type of nightwear ever, onesies are here to stay.
So now that you know what’s on the table, what kind of nightwear will you be wearing this winter?
