Pirose: not a scarf, not a shawl

Already a hit in the states, Pirose – a piece of fabric that can be worn in over 40 ways – is already beginning to make an impact across the UK.

Originally from Tokyo, the designer behind the creation, Reno Rose, studied as a ballerina for over a decade before turning to accessory design. 

Using the same airy fabrics as Reno Rose used in her ballet days, Pirose is named after the graceful movements of pirouettes, while the strong lines and alignment create an illusion of length, playing to the best features of a woman’s physique. 

Hoping to emphasise a lady’s best assets rather than conceal them, the fabric is flattering and light, and available in a variety of patterns to suit every outfit in your wardrobe. 

The pieces themselves can be worn as hair accessories to add a vintage feel to an outfit, as a conventional scarf around the neck, as a poncho, as a shawl and in various other ways. After all, why buy someone one accessory for Christmas, when you can buy them 40 in one?
