All I want for Christmas is make-up
Along with lights on the Christmas tree, shiny dresses and a mass load of tinsel, make-up is all about shimmer this time of year too. With metallic eyeliner, sparkling nails, gold eye shadow and much, much more, now is most definitely the time to shine (literally).
Starting with your eyes, mix up the traditional smoky look by replacing slate greys with warm golds, having a dark brown in the crease to heat up the look further. This will still achieve the same great effect, but will now go down the bit before the smoke with the “chestnut roasting” instead.
Secondly, there’s the all-important blush. It brightens up your complexion, it highlights your cheekbones, it gives you a smile worthy of smiling, just be careful not to overdo it (try tapping your brush before you apply to get excess powder off), and you’re good to go.
Next up is lipstick, with the ability to transform any look with a quick swipe of the magic wand, this component is clearly important. Try out with new shades this season and get dark and dirty with deep purples and burgundies. After all, it is Christmas.
Be sure NOT to miss out brows when you’re grooming up for Christmas; sometimes the spot we leave to the last minute or forget, is debatably the most important part. These delightful Delevingne idols don’t just frame your face, but can be part of your make-up also. With a brow kit you’ll never be off the beaten brow track.
And finally your nail varnish, it can say a lot about you, can change or complement an outfit, or be the star of the show. Revamp the old look though with colour blocking with a twist. Instead of going for a colour, go for a metallic wrap like silver to really shine out from the crowd.
So whatever takes your fancy this Christmas let it be shiny, shimmery and sparkly. Give your tree some competition this year…
