Tim Labenda launches first womenswear collection
Perhaps better known for his menswear collections, Tim Labenda has recently unveiled his first womenswear collection. The range was produced as part of his participation in Vogue Germany’s Vogue Salon and it looks set to enjoy just as much success as his menswear designs.
The designer’s SS14 collection, RESET, has allowed him to refresh the way he previously thought about clothing design. The collection takes some inspiration from Labenda’s menswear experience and features his signature masculine silhouettes and clean-cut design.
RESET features a selection of materials that help to ensure the collection is as wide-ranging as possible. Soft cotton and silk contrast beautifully against technical materials such as rubber jersey in order to create an effortlessly stylish look.
All of the materials in garments such as the waterproof rain jacket are double-faced in order to ensure that each item’s interior is as comfortable and warm as it can possibly be.
The collection’s range of tight blouses and voluminous pants work beautifully alongside the sharp and edgy silhouette of the oversized double-breasted blazers in order to create a range of designs that are deceptively easy to style.
With a palette including monochrome and earthy tones that’s pulled together by prints, RESET looks like it could be the start of something beautiful for Tim Labenda and his future in womenswear.
