So far we have enjoyed quite a mild winter, but we know a chilling blast is just around the corner, and ready to bite. We can’t escape it – in a few weeks we are sure to be wrapping up tightly in our winter layers. Luckily we have discovered a way to keep you looking and feeling both warm and pretty during these icy weeks ahead.

Helen Ruth is a luxury accessories brand specialising in high quality printed silk and wool scarves. The label has two main values: production and style. Helen Ruth is entirely produced in the UK with the majority of the printing taking place in Glasgow. The scarves possess a distinctive style, with inspirations drawn from Scottish landscapes, creatures, fairytales and folklore. Each piece presents an enchanting and unique story – a well-known or loved tale or a personal childhood memory, giving the wearer a sense of nostalgia and emotional connection with the comforting piece draped around her neck.  With Helen Ruth’s combination of conventional ideas of beauty with subtle sinister undertones, there is always more than meets the eye – making her collection of scarves more than just a typical winter accessory.

This intriguing label was launched in 2010 when Helen was one of the few designers to be handpicked from the many applicants who wanted to showcase their work in a new concept store. With the vibrancy of colours and imaginative prints in each piece, it is clear as to why Helen’s flair for design has attracted attention from international customers in New York and Japan, and has gone on to secure stockists in Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Germany.
