Saunt and Sinner’s Scottish S/S 2014 collection

Strong, bold designs with soft silhouettes sum up the feel of Saunt and Sinner’s S/S 2014 collection. The Scottish designers, who have not only dressed the likes of Emeli Sandé and Burberry model Sophie Kennedy, but also have the nomination for the 2012 Scottish Fashion Award’s Graduate of the Year award under their belt.

With a strong Scottish heritage, the designer duo tries to source the fabrics from Scotland where possible, while the looks themselves are created in Glasgow. Following on from the Scottish theme, their S/S 2014 collection Doomen is inspired by doo fleein’ – a traditional Scottish sport. Using pigeons, the sport itself sees a pigeon released from a cage to seduce a fellow bird for capture. Alike the sport, the collection is alluring and fierce, attracting the opposition with its charms.           

Separated into seven finely crafted digital prints, silk crepe hand-dyed with barkweave cotton in petrol, periwinkle and powder blue are inspired by the feathers of a bird. With layers of ombre fabric and a range of styles from matching top and bottoms to dresses, the collection is empowering yet tempting, allowing the wearer to most certainly get what she wants.
