Beautiful lace and shades of red cascaded down the runway, with details to die for and intricate embellishments that were skilfully constructed. This collection was less about tight-fighting, sexy body-conscious shapes and more about romantic details.

The autumn/winter collection was inspired by an evening reverie with tales of enchantment behind every corner in a “moonlit moorish palace”. Velvet was on a lot of the gowns in the collection, echoing what seems to be on trend this upcoming autumn/winter 2014 season. Ornate beading was also a consistent factor in this collection.

Bright colours in the family of purples and reds were used to symbolise “intricate tile-work”.  The black gowns were adorned with glitzy jewels to represent stars as “glittering road maps to the desert sky”.Tadashi Shoji Show at Lincoln Center Salon New York - Adnan Moe-TheUpcoming - (5)

Capes will also be a trend this upcoming autumn/winter 2014 season, and Tadashi was definitely on trend with the glamorous capes some of his models wore as they strutted their stuff. This trend was also seen being used by BCBG’s collection.Tadashi Shoji Show at Lincoln Center Salon New York - Adnan Moe-TheUpcoming - (6)

Miss J from America’s Next Top Model, Katrina Bowden and Alyssa Milano were just a few of the front-row celebrity sightings we saw, but there were many in attendance.
