NYFW – Adeam A/W 2014 collection
Adeam continued to deliver beautiful, modern clothes for autumn/winter 2014. The balance between masculinity and femininity is one that this brand has mastered. Draped, sculptural dresses and pants were paired with sharp collars and structured silhouettes. Adeam’s most successful concept with this collection was the range of textures in each look. Fur, leather and wool contrasted soft silk crepe, chiffon and organza.
There were quite a variety of styling options with this collection that could appeal to a number of different women. Almost every pant, shirt, jacket or skirt could be mixed and matched with something else. Since the colour palette remained pretty consistent, and texture expertly varied within each garment, this collection could easily make up an entire wardrobe.
Some of the most successful garments were Adeam’s play on silhouette. The ice grey coat with a voluminous fur collar created statuesque proportions with powerful shoulders and a narrow waist. The navy blue, printed bird dress beautifully billowed out from the waist as the model walked down the runway. That same fabric in a strapless top over slim, black pants was paired with a fabulous white fur cape, once again emphasising the shoulders.
This collection had a little bit of everything, and something for anyone to love. It’s no doubt stores will find these pieces irresistible to buy for autumn/winter, and stylists will find the dresses perfect for red carpet events.
