Classical music chimed as the runway lights dimmed at Freemasons Hall… showtime!
One by one, the models flowed down the runway poised, hair slicked back in clean-cut outfits, which fitted the models beautifully, yet wasn’t tailored to accentuate the models’ waist – this is part of Jamie Wei Huang’s aesthetic where modern meets Roman.
The pieces had dual textures with large leather gladiator straps as the focus of detailing. The straight-cut collection showcased a dark blue, leather long coat with high contrasting collars. The collection developed darker as the show progressed, the white shades were replaced with black leather with accents of blue. The ponchos had triangular cuts on the back, which created an inverted cape look, accessorised with a fur arm-cuff.
The collection finished with a a white jacket which was lined in maroon fur, and a headpiece and dress which consisted of large snakeskin panels and had dual lengths.
Jamie Wei Huang is definitely one to watch in high-end womenswear.
