Spanish designer Emilio de la Morena hit the ground running with today’s presentation of his autumn/winter 2014 collection.
The Central Saint Martin’s graduate, and former Rafael Lopez and Jonathan Saunders employee, showcased a starting line-up of pieces sure to find themselves in the grips of the boldest power players. Not intended for the faint of heart, de la Morena used influence of old craftsmanship to produce modern design. The palette consisted of mauves, royal blues, teals, crimson and bronze, drafted on velvets, leathers, shag and net. Refreshing colour contrasts of deep orchid blousons adorned with hot pink leather belting made for pleasantly surprising expansion of our colour scheme.
Stand-out pieces included a long-line dress boasting black sheer micro mesh epaulette, bronze breast panelling and accent skirting ruffle. We also loved the designer’s teal sweetheart cut body con dress, paired with crimson court shoes.
