Liz Black collection presentation for LFW A/W 2014
Liz Black’s autumn/winter 2014 presentation drew clear inspiration from her Spanish background, taking the life of the living and working of Salvador, Dali as the foundation of her collection. Taking us through a journey of surrealism, Black’s wearable statement garments impose simplicity and volume to bring us real life characters through dress.
Concomitance of leathers, wool crepes and silk organzas patched with organic, hand-painted imagery were made fun, sexy and free with mesh accents. Earthy reds and splashes of teal gave life to warm, calming skin tone fabrics. Setting the scene were figures donning escapist pieces ruffled with crimson lips and stark moustaches.
Though quite literal, Black’s collection of wearable character garments allow for great exploration of inspiration and takes an innovative and insightful approach to artful design.
