The palmer//harding showcase was held at Central Saint Martin’s Platform Theatre. This collection was presented in an abstract environment, adding chaos to the designers’ thematic structure.
Inspiration was drawn from the inherent versatility, modesty and elegance of paper. Oxblood, chartreuse and white made its way down the showroom as “shades of paper”. Rich textures of patent leathers and technical jerseys were teamed with US cottons and wool to make reference to the palpability of the designers’ papery muse. Through shredding, tearing, layering and thinning, palmer//harding took influence, intention and creative invitation from new, clean, bare spaces of a page. We loved the lime mini with white single side panelling, paired with eggshell Henley collared blouson, as well as the electric contrast of the chartreuse wide-legged trouser with rusty red drop coat.
All in all, we feel this collection was elegantly shaped, introduced some unexpected, innovative use of tactile and colour contrast, and made great execution of their intention and brand message.
